An FDA adverse event analysis identified over 177,000 drug–drug interaction reports, with warfarin, aspirin, sertraline, tacrolimus, and simvastatin most frequently implicated. Over 8% were fatal, and nearly half required hospitalization. For gastroenterologists, findings highlight the DDI risks of agents like omeprazole and metoclopramide and underscore the need for careful medication review in patients with hepatic or metabolic comorbidities.
