A study involving 114 adults from China and South Korea evaluated the effectiveness of combining ultrasound methods for assessing metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and liver fibrosis. Conducted from August 2021 to December 2023, participants underwent liver biopsy for suspected MASH. Researchers used tissue attenuation imaging (TAI), tissue scatter-distribution imaging (TSI), and two-dimensional shear-wave elastography (SWE) to evaluate liver health. The results indicated high diagnostic accuracy for detecting liver conditions, proposing a noninvasive alternative to biopsy for MASH diagnosis, although further validation is required.
