New research results found that robot-assisted liver resection (RLR) offers advantages over open liver resection (OLR) with reduced postoperative complications while maintaining comparable oncological outcomes. Evaluating 185 patients, the study found that robotic techniques led to lower complication rates, reducing median blood loss from 400 mL with OLR to 200 mL with RLR, and shortened ICU and hospital stays.
