A comprehensive study from the Dutch Fecal Immunochemical Test-based colorectal cancer screening program revealed that the short-term risk of post-colonoscopy colorectal cancer is more closely associated with the endoscopist's performance than the presence of high-risk polyps. Following over 239,000 individuals, researchers found that higher adenoma detection rates and proximal serrated polyp detection rates significantly reduce cancer risk.
