A meta-analysis involving over 2 million participants revealed significant dietary patterns influencing the risk of Crohn's disease, with inflammatory and ultra-processed diets associated with increased risk and high fiber and Mediterranean diets linked to reduced risk. The study, including 72 cohort studies published from 2008 to 2025, found no consistent dietary links for ulcerative colitis. Furthermore, early-life and maternal dietary quality showed protective effects against IBD. These findings could inform future dietary prevention strategies for Crohn's disease.
