A comprehensive analysis of 9,257 CT and MRI liver scans from 46 studies indicates that including ancillary features (AFs) in the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) does not enhance diagnostic accuracy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The study analyzed data from 7,811 adults, finding that the traditional major features of LI-RADS alone provided sufficient diagnostic information. The research underscores that AFs may complicate interpretation without yielding significant benefits in diagnostic outcomes, suggesting their limited utility in clinical settings.
