During the first season of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccination for older adults in the US, only 10.4% of eligible hospitalized patients aged 60 years and older received the shot. A study of 6,746 adults revealed major gaps in vaccine coverage and awareness, with characteristics such as age, sex, education, and social vulnerability influencing vaccine receipt. The findings underscore barriers to vaccine uptake, including low awareness, limited access, and socioeconomic disparities, pointing to the need for targeted outreach and continued monitoring.
