Board-certified advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist Sheng Fu, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. He specializes in advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, transplant cardiology and mechanical circulatory support. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplantation.

Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Fu served as an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Louisville. Additionally, he served as medical director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Jewish Hospital and as associate medical director of the Department of Heart Transplantation at Jewish Hospital – University of Louisville.

Dr. Fu earned his medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio, after earning a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed an internal medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio. His clinical training also includes a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplantation at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Fu has published extensively on heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. Committed to patient-centered care, Dr. Fu provides education and advocacy for his patients to ensure that their heart health is a shared journey. “This collaborative approach leads to better outcomes because informed and empowered patients are more likely to understand treatment plans and manage their health proactively,” he said.
Dr. Fu is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese. He will see patients at two locations on the main campus of Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute: 8950 North Kendall Dr., Suites 507W and 600W, Miami.
