In this cross-sectional survey of 5,917 US physicians, those with disabilities were significantly more likely than their peers without disabilities to consider leaving medical practice (odds ratio, 2.22) or to reduce or pause clinical work (odds ratio, 1.94), with burnout and health-related factors cited as leading drivers. Receipt of workplace accommodations was associated with lower intent to leave, highlighting the potential role of inclusive policies and support systems in mitigating attrition within this underrepresented physician population.
