A meta-analysis involving over 6 million participants reveals that processed meats, sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs), and trans fatty acids significantly increase the risk of chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, and colorectal cancer. The study demonstrated that even small daily intakes correlated with increased health risks, particularly processed meats linked to a 30% higher diabetes risk. Despite varying evidence strengths, the findings support public health recommendations to reduce consumption of these foods to mitigate diet-related diseases.
