In a retrospective review of 650 adults with type 2 diabetes in two primary care practices offering lifestyle medicine, 6.3% of patients underwent deprescribing of glucose-lowering medications following improvements in weight and glycemic control, with mean reductions of 2.25 kg/m² in body mass index, 25% in glucose, and 13% in hemoglobin A1c. No serious adverse events were identified, suggesting that lifestyle-driven clinical improvement can support safe medication de-escalation in routine primary care settings.
