Adults with ADHD in a 900-patient clinic cohort showed differences by sex and presentation. Females had higher symptom severity, more depression and anxiety, later diagnosis, and greater disability than males, while males reported more alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis use; the combined presentation had greater clinical severity, higher impulsivity, more depression and anxiety, more substance use, and higher disability than the inattentive presentation, with the only sex–presentation interaction seen for disability (highest in females with the combined presentation). Findings came from standardized interviews and scales in a single program and a cross-sectional design.
