A team of international investigators has assessed the current treatment approaches for feeding and eating disorders (FEDs), highlighting the lack of strong evidence to support tailored care strategies. Despite the high mortality rates associated with FEDs, only about 50% of patients fully recover with existing therapies. Personalization of treatment is considered a priority, but the use of neuroimaging and precision psychiatry tools for individualized treatment is not yet ready for routine care. The study emphasizes the importance of assessing symptoms, tracking progress, and addressing disparities in diagnosis and access to care, especially for underrepresented groups.
