A cross-sectional analysis found that young adult women in the United States had higher binge drinking rates than men between 2021 and 2023, marking a reversal from previous years. The study, led by Bryant Shuey, MD, MPH, of the University of Pittsburgh, used data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health and indicated a narrowing gap in binge and heavy drinking between males and females across different age groups.
