A comprehensive analysis of 13 studies involving 30,257 participants revealed that the average time to diagnose dementia is approximately 3.52 years. The time to diagnosis (TTD) varies by dementia subtype, with Alzheimer's disease averaging 3.61 years, while frontotemporal dementia and young-onset dementia take longer, with TTDs of 4.21 and 4.13 years, respectively. Factors such as age, service consultations, and socio-economic status influence TTD. The study highlights a need for standardized criteria and interventions to improve diagnosis speed.
