Parental satisfaction in pediatric emergency departments depended most on communication and involvement in care decisions, according to a cross-sectional study of 406 parents at a Turkish tertiary hospital. Published in BMC Health Services Research, the study found 64% of parents were satisfied with staff, 65% with communication, and 62% with information provided. Family participation ranked as the top need (mean 2.90). Nighttime visits and longer waiting times were linked to higher unmet needs and lower satisfaction. Rural families and unemployed fathers reported greater needs. The authors emphasized the importance of family engagement and communication in improving emergency care experiences.
