In this cross-sectional analysis of 6,454 US adults aged 30 to 69 years from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2011 to 2016, higher dietary intake of both n−3 and n−6 polyunsaturated fatty acids was associated with lower odds of high-frequency hearing loss, with adjusted odds ratios of 0.93 and 0.90, respectively. Dose–response analyses demonstrated a linear inverse relationship, while the n−6/n−3 ratio was not significantly associated, suggesting independent protective associations of absolute polyunsaturated fatty acid intake rather than relative balance.
