A cohort study in Japan found significant associations between changes in alcohol consumption and lipid profiles among adults undergoing annual health checkups. Alcohol cessation was linked to increases in LDL-C and decreases in HDL-C, while alcohol initiation showed inverse dose-response patterns in lipid levels. The findings highlight the importance of monitoring lipid profiles following changes in alcohol habits to optimize cardiovascular disease risk management.
