A retrospective study of 74 women treated with low-dose oral minoxidil for hair loss found stable blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and laboratory values during follow-up of up to 30 months. Nearly half reported adverse effects, most commonly hypertrichosis, dizziness, edema, and palpitations, but serious cardiovascular events were not observed. Researchers concluded that routine monitoring may not be necessary for asymptomatic patients with normal baseline cardiovascular and laboratory profiles, though patients with renal disease or cardiovascular risk factors may still require closer follow-up.
