A randomized study of 2,655 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting found that the no-touch saphenous vein harvesting technique resulted in better outcomes at 3 years compared to the conventional method. The no-touch group had lower rates of vein graft occlusion, nonfatal myocardial infarction, repeat revascularization, and angina, confirming the technique's effectiveness in reducing vein graft occlusion, with no significant differences in stroke or all-cause mortality at 3 years.
