A study presented at the 2025 American Heart Association’s Epidemiology, Prevention, Lifestyle & Cardiometabolic Health Scientific Sessions found that adolescents with insufficient sleep and insomnia symptoms were at increased risk of elevated blood pressure. The research revealed that those who slept less than 7.7 hours and reported insomnia faced a fivefold increase in the likelihood of developing stage 2 hypertension, highlighting the strong correlation between inadequate sleep and high blood pressure in teens.
