Recent research demonstrates that dynamic splinting without scheduled weaning significantly enhances early hip development in infants under 6 months with immature or dysplastic hips. A cohort study of 103 hips compared the efficacy of the Pavlik harness, double diapering, and observation over 12 months. Results showed greater alpha angle improvement and femoral head coverage with the Pavlik harness. The network meta-analysis involving 681 hips confirmed that dynamic splinting outperformed observation in achieving normalization rates, suggesting it as the superior treatment option alongside double diapering.
