This overview of 128 systematic reviews (15,812 participants across 310 randomized controlled trials) found that kinesio taping may provide modest, short-term reductions in pain and small immediate improvements in function in musculoskeletal disorders, but effects were inconsistent and generally not sustained. Overall, the certainty of evidence was very low, with substantial heterogeneity and limited clinical relevance, suggesting kinesio taping should be used cautiously and as an adjunct within shared decision-making rather than as a primary intervention.
