A 16-week randomized trial in Madrid found that a Mediterranean diet program reduced psoriasis severity compared with low-fat dietary advice. Nearly half of patients in the intervention group achieved PASI 75, while none in the control group did. Patients also reported improvements in quality of life, anxiety, and sleep. The intervention lowered lipoprotein(a) and hemoglobin A1c but did not affect weight or cholesterol. Researchers noted the trial’s small sample size, single-center design, and short follow-up as limitations, and emphasized the need for larger, multicenter studies.
