A retrospective study evaluated the effect of 0.8% hyaluronic acid (HA) gel on early wound healing in dental surgeries. Analyzing records of 45 patients who underwent tooth extractions or crown lengthening from May 2022 to December 2023, researchers compared two groups: one receiving HA gel and the other undergoing standard procedures. Although 79.2% of the HA group achieved a successful healing score, compared to 76.2% in the control group, the difference was not statistically significant. Other factors, including pain and edema rates, were similar, suggesting limited benefit of HA gel in enhancing early healing post-surgery. Further research is required for concluding its role in dental practice.
