Directa USA has introduced Ceramir computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) blocks.
The novel technology combines laser sintering with particle-infiltrated ceramics and dentin-like flexible materials to develop durable, long-lasting, and aesthetic dental prosthetics. Further, the blocks are bisphenol A–free and nontoxic. According to the company, the blocks provide a streamlined, cost-effective workflow, Ceramir CAD/CAM blocks create crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers with natural-looking translucency and high-gloss margins. The prosthetics are developed using biocompatible blocks that can integrate with natural teeth.
