A 12-week randomized controlled trial revealed that substituting regular snacks with 57 g per day of pecans resulted in enhanced lipid profiles and diet quality among adults at risk of cardiometabolic disease. Lead by Tricia L. Hart and her colleagues, the study enrolled 138 adults with at least one metabolic syndrome criterion and demonstrated decreases in total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, along with improved diet quality but no impact on vascular health.
