A new systematic review and meta-analysis of 24 observational studies, encompassing more than 432 million individuals, revealed that cannabis use is associated with an increased risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, including acute coronary syndrome, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality. This analysis highlighted consistent associations between cannabis use and individual cardiovascular endpoints, emphasizing potential harms and recommending that clinicians consider cannabis use in cardiovascular risk assessments, particularly among younger patients.
