A new study followed older adults with metabolic syndrome over 36 months to assess the association between breakfast energy intake, breakfast quality, and adverse cardiometabolic outcomes. Both low and high breakfast energy intake, as well as poor breakfast quality, were associated with negative cardiometabolic outcomes, including increased body mass index and waist circumference.
