A 37-year-old woman experienced pneumomediastinum and subcutaneous emphysema following a routine dental cleaning with a high-pressure air-water device. Chest imaging confirmed air in the subcutaneous tissues. Management involved high-flow oxygen therapy, medications, and avoiding unnecessary procedures. The patient recovered well with gradual improvement in symptoms and normal chest radiograph after discharge.
