A multicenter cohort study in Spain revealed that women with breast cancer who waited over 90 days after noticing symptoms had a significantly higher mortality rate. The study involved 543 women diagnosed with histologically confirmed breast cancer between 2013 and 2015 across four regions. The mortality rate among those delayed in seeking care was 11.7%, compared to 3.2% for those who sought timely medical attention. Important predictors of mortality included later cancer stages, age, and living alone, suggesting a need for interventions to improve early detection.
