Researchers in the BLINK2 Study analyzed the discontinuation of soft multifocal contact lenses for myopia control and found no rebound effect in axial elongation or myopia progression. The study followed pediatric patients and concluded that the treatment effect of multifocal lenses was retained even after discontinuing treatment. However, further research is required to understand the impact on younger patients and the long-term effects on pediatric patients with varying durations of multifocal lens wear.
