Researchers led by Mayinuer Yusufu of the Centre for Eye Research Australia in Victoria, Australia, analyzed retinal vascular parameters in 45,161 U.K. Biobank participants over a 12.5-year follow-up period to study their association with stroke risk. The study found 29 retinal vascular parameters that were significantly associated with stroke risk, which suggested that retinal imaging can enhance traditional risk assessment models.
