Researchers assessed the effectiveness of AI-based assistive technologies in improving daily tasks for individuals with vision impairment. Participants with varying levels of vision impairment due to different conditions completed tasks using smart glasses and mobile applications. The AI tools significantly improved text-based task completion rates and time efficiency, and participants reported high satisfaction. Age, sex, and diagnosis did not predict the performance outcomes, and the reachers suggested that AI-based technologies could be a viable alternative for magnification for patients with visual impairment.
