A multinational cohort study assessed the association between smoking cessation pharmacotherapies during early pregnancy and major congenital malformations. The study found no evidence of increased risk of major congenital malformations associated with the use of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), varenicline, or bupropion during early pregnancy.
