A retrospective observational study of postmenopausal patients with vulvovaginal atrophy found that platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections resulted in greater improvements in sexual function compared to topical estrogen therapy. All patients who received PRP had previously undergone estrogen therapy without a sufficient response. The study concluded that PRP injections may be a safe and minimally invasive option for postmenopausal vulvovaginal atrophy, particularly for patients with contraindications to hormone therapy.
