A systematic review by the USPSTF of 90 randomized controlled trials reaffirms the positive impact of breastfeeding support interventions on increasing both any and exclusive breastfeeding rates for up to 6 months postpartum. Authors noted the need for consistent support for individuals making feeding decisions for their infants, particularly among socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. Although the interventions showed no significant effect on breastfeeding initiation, the evidence underscores the importance of continued efforts to provide breastfeeding support.
