A large-scale retrospective study in France analyzed over 55,000 postbariatric surgery pregnancies. Maternal risks like gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes decreased, while neonatal complications such as small-for-gestational-age births, prematurity, and stillbirth increased. Pregnancy timing, surgery type, and malnutrition were found to influence outcomes, indicating the need for close monitoring and further research.
