A FIFA-sponsored study at Kingston University aims to understand how hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle might contribute to the rise in ACL injuries among female footballers. Led by PhD student Blake Rivers and sports science researchers, the investigation will analyze hormone concentrations, correlating them with physical performance data collected across the menstrual cycle to potentially inform individualized training and rehabilitation programs.
