A 4-year study involving 376 Finnish women aged 47 to 55 examined the association between body composition, particularly abdominal fat, and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The study found that higher levels of abdominal fat, total fat mass, waist circumference, and BMI were linked to an increased risk of SUI in middle-aged women. These findings emphasize the clinical relevance of assessing abdominal fat when evaluating SUI risk.
