Recent findings published in JAMA reveal a significant decline in financial conflicts of interest (COI) among two prominent US federal vaccine advisory committees: the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC). ACIP's COI prevalence fell from 43% in 2000 to just 5% in 2024, while VRBPAC's remained under 4% since 2010. These changes are attributed to policy revisions and increased oversight initiated in 2007, resulting in a more transparent advisory process.
