A recent study indicates that self-administered intralesional triamcinolone can effectively treat inflammatory acne with outcomes comparable to those of provider-administered injections. Conducted across three arms involving 131 patients, the research revealed enhanced lesion resolution for moderate to severe acne at a higher triamcinolone concentration of 0.2%. Patients reported higher satisfaction with this concentration, with minimal injection pain and no adverse effects. These findings suggest that self-treatment could improve access to care, especially for timely intervention.
