A retrospective cohort study of 834 adults with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) found that 6.35% were hospitalized for noncutaneous infections (NCIs), with urinary tract infections, musculoskeletal infections, and COVID-19 infections being most common. Patients with chronic kidney disease, anxiety, or public insurance had the highest risk for hospitalizations. The study highlighted high healthcare utilization and the need for further research on infection risks and specific treatments.
