A Mendelian randomization study analyzed genetic data from large cohorts and cytokine data from Olink's Target Inflammation panel to identify causal relationships between specific gut microbiota taxa, inflammatory cytokines, and inflammatory skin diseases. The study found that certain gut microbiota taxa were causally associated with several inflammatory skin conditions, and identified potential mediation pathways between gut microbiota and inflammatory skin diseases. The findings provide potential targets for therapeutic interventions in inflammatory skin diseases.
