A large cohort study on isotretinoin revealed that higher cumulative dosages were associated with reduced rates of acne relapse and retrial, while daily dosing had no significant impact on outcomes. Female patients were more likely to experience relapse but less likely to undergo retrial treatment. These findings suggest that tailoring daily dosing schedules to individual patient preferences and tolerability, while optimizing cumulative dosage, may be more critical for preventing relapse.
