A randomized clinical trial investigated the efficacy of combining oral bicalutamide with oral minoxidil for female pattern hair loss (FPHL).
The study, conducted in Brazil, found that the combination did not significantly improve outcomes compared to minoxidil alone over 24 weeks. Despite some favorable effects, such as a reduction in hair shedding, the trial did not demonstrate superiority of the bicalutamide-minoxidil combination. Further research into different antiandrogens and longer follow-up periods is recommended.
